Got My Pay is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our budgeting web application.

1. Information We Collect

Local Data Storage

• All financial data (purchases, bills, income, paychecks) is stored locally on your device using browser storage
• We do NOT collect, transmit, or store your financial data on any servers
• Your data never leaves your device unless you manually export it
• You have complete control over your budget information

Premium Subscription Information

• If you purchase a premium subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe
• We do not collect or store your credit card information
• Stripe may collect payment information (name, email, billing address) as necessary to process your subscription
• See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle payment data

2. How We Use Information

• Local Storage: To save your budgeting data on your device so you can access it anytime
• Premium Features: To enable premium features for active subscribers
• App Functionality: To provide core budgeting features like tracking spending, managing bills, and calculating your available balance

3. Data Sharing

We do NOT share, sell, or transmit your financial data to anyone.

• Your budget data (purchases, bills, income) stays entirely on your device
• We have no access to your financial information
• Stripe processes premium subscription payments but does not have access to your budgeting data
• No third parties receive your budgeting information

4. Your Data Rights

Access

All your data is stored locally in your browser. You can view, edit, or delete any information at any time through the app interface.

Export

Use the "Export Data" feature in Settings to download your complete budget as a JSON file. This gives you a permanent backup that you control.

Delete

You can delete all data in two ways:

• Delete individual items using the × button next to each entry
• Clear all data by clearing your browser's local storage for this site

Cancel Subscription

You can cancel your premium subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from Settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

5. Cookies

Got My Pay uses minimal cookies only for essential app functionality, such as remembering your premium subscription status.

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

• Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing cookies
• Disabling cookies may affect premium features but won't impact your stored budgeting data
• Your budget data is stored separately from cookies and won't be affected

6. Data Security

Since your data never leaves your device, it's protected by your device's security measures. We recommend:

• Using device lock screens and passwords
• Keeping your device's operating system updated
• Regularly exporting your data as a backup
• Being cautious about who has physical access to your device

7. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has used our service, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Material changes will be prominently displayed in the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

9. Third-Party Services

Stripe (Payment Processing)

We use Stripe to process premium subscription payments. Stripe handles all payment information securely and in compliance with PCI-DSS standards. We never have access to your complete credit card information.

Ko-fi (Donations)

If you choose to support Got My Pay through Ko-fi, Ko-fi processes those payments independently. We do not have access to your payment information through Ko-fi.

Vercel Hosting

Our app is hosted and served through Vercel. Vercel may collect technical information such as IP addresses and browser data for site performance and security purposes. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.

GitHub

Our source code is stored on GitHub. GitHub does not have access to user data or site visitors. See GitHub's Privacy Statement for their general practices.
